Mortise deadbolt with WC (Privacy) function brass / stainless steel (304) | GSV-No. 1172 WC
21. July 2022The rod lock with GSV No. 9002 is a mechanical locking system specifically developed to meet the requirements of railway vehicle construction. It is used in access doors to locomotive driver’s cabs and meets the highest standards for safety, durability, and operational reliability under demanding conditions.
The system consists of two independently operated locking mechanisms that are interconnected via a central rod linkage. The lower lock is used for exterior door operation and allows authorized personnel to access the locomotive from the platform or directly from track level. It is released by an exterior handle, which is part of the included fitting set.
The upper lock is located inside the driver’s cab and allows the operator to open the door from the inside. Both locks are connected by a vertical rod that controls the locking points at the top and bottom of the door.
To secure the system, an additional lock with a profile cylinder is integrated. This lock mechanically blocks the vertical movement of the rod linkage, thereby preventing operation of the main locks. Only authorized personnel with the appropriate key can release the lock.
The supplied fitting set includes robust interior and exterior handles as well as the cylinder housing. The entire assembly is made of high-quality, corrosion-resistant materials and is designed for long-term use in harsh environmental conditions.
The rod lock GSV No. 9002 has already been successfully deployed in locomotives from Talbot, Nedtrain, and IFE. It is equally suitable for both retrofitting and original equipment installation.
